DRIFTERS MEETING & SHOP WORKDAY

Tony, Ryan and Pete teamed up to get the Caddy 472ci big block installed in the chopped top1954 Merc. Next came some work on Tony’s Buick. That included some exhaust up dates and brake adjustments.

The Club meeting included new T-shirt designs for Club supporters. More to follow.

Another Club Nailhead Project
Ryan was turned on to this 1957 Buick Super Riviera by Drifters member, Greg. Ryan has been looking for another project since getting his 1960 Buick LeSabre road reliable. The ‘57 caught his eye because of its honest patina, excellent 50’s styling and 364 nailhead motor, something both cars have in common. He was quickly offered trailers by multiple Drifters members. He chose one with a winch and headed to Detroit to check this car out and, hopefully, make a deal. Well, the owner Joseph was a nice guy and struck a deal to give his Super a better home. We’ve all been there. Ryan plans to lower, add lakes, wheel treatment and run it. Look for his 4dr Patina Buick at Madison’s Tuesday evening car cruise all summer!

Dragway 42 in West Salem is on the auction block.

It is one of a dozen tracks across the country put up for auction by Darana Motorsports Holdings.

"Our business has taken a different direction from what we originally anticipated, and I have made the decision to exit the racing business through the sale of these properties," said Darryl Cuttell, CEO of Darana Motorsports Holdings, in statement to Drag Illustrated. "Our goal is to complete the sale of these properties and our exit from the racing business by the end of the year."

The Drifters offer a warm welcome to our lastest member, Ryan Kunsman, From Madison, OH. Ryan's ride is a really awesome 1960 Buick LaSabre with a 364 cubic inch "nailhead. Ryan owns Arcola Creek Tattoo in Madison. https://www.arcolacreektattoo.com/ryan

Another big block completed. This one is a fresh Cadillac 472 CI with a Comp cams and Edelbrock manifold with a 800 Q-jet.
It has been fired up and timed, now I'll install the radiator on the run-stand and break it in.
