The Grant County Clerk’s Office will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.

We have Power! We will be open tomorrow, Monday, June 22nd, 2026.

Effective at 6:00pm this evening, power was restored to the Grant County Clerk’s Office. After testing the internet, phones, printers, and scanners, we will be open for business on Monday, June 22nd, 2026.

We want to thank the City of Williamstown and others for their tireless work in restoring power, and to all who play a role in the continual cleanup process, we thank you.

As utility crews worked tirelessly to restore power to the residents of Williamstown, they are currently working on the line and utility pole that provides power and internet to our office and internet and phone lines to other offices of the Court House. Though we would like to be operational tomorrow, due to the nature of the scope of work that needs to be accomplished, we will not know for sure if we can serve you until later this evening. Updates will be posted once received.

In the event that we may not be operational tomorrow, Grant County residents will still be able to be served in a variety of ways if needed:

-You can always renew online at drive.ky.gov, or by mail by sending to: Grant County Clerk’s Office, 107 N Main St. Williamstown, Ky 41097. Our office will work as quickly as possible to process these requests in the coming days.

Furthermore:

-We are grateful to our surrounding County Clerks who are willing to allow our residents to come into their offices to complete any motor vehicle transactions until our power is restored. Until power and connectivity is restored in our office, any needed transfers, registration renewals, motor vehicle transactions, etc., can, only during this time of closure, be completed in our surrounding County Clerk’s Offices. Counties include: Boone, Kenton, Owen, Gallatin, Scott, Pendleton, and Harrison.

-If a marriage license is needed for a wedding to be performed tomorrow, one can be obtained in a different County, but must be returned and filed in the county that issued it.

-All E-Recordings and Electronic Motor Vehicle Transactions can still be submitted in normal fashion. Our office will work as quickly as possible to process these upon opening.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this time as a a community. We want to thank the many people and crews for their dedication to our community.

Due to continued power and internet outages in the area, the Grant County Clerk’s Office will be closed until power is restored to our building.

In the meantime, you can renew your vehicles online at drive.ky.gov, or by mail, by sending to 107 N Main St., Williamstown, Ky 41097.

We once again want to express our gratitude to our community for their work in restoring power, cleaning debris, and helping your neighbors.

Due to power and internet outages affecting the area, the Grant County Clerk’s Office will be closed today, June 18th, 2026.
