During heatwaves, staying comfortable while camping can be tough. Luckily, allour campers are built for four-season comfort, with insulation that helps keep the inside comfortable in both hot and cold weather.

Turn on your Nomadic AC, powered by our off-grid energy system, and cool off inside. 🤠

Some people follow the sun as they age. Pat bought a camper and followed the birds. 🐦

Meet Pat Gordon: an Audubon leader from Hayward, California, whose life has been built around noticing wild things and helping other people see them too. She and her husband Phil originally spent years birding and camping in a Lance overhead camper. After Phil passed, the Lance became too tall, too windy, and too much to handle solo, but Pat still wanted to follow the birds - she just needed a rig that would be simple for her to maintain on her own. So she brought her Ford F-250 up to Winlock and chose an 8’ Alaskan built for solo travel.

Since then, Pat has taken her Alaskan through rain-soaked Oregon campgrounds, California coastlines, Pinnacles in condor weather, and a 10‑day solo run through Anza-Borrego and the Salton Sea. Between trips, she writes the Southern Alameda County Audubon newsletter, compiles Christmas Bird Counts, monitors shorebirds on San Francisco Bay, and spends Friday mornings birding with seniors because there’s always more to see when you know where to look!

Catch up with Pat and more details of her adventures in our recent Alaskan Life piece linked below!

There’s a reason our original hard-sided pop-up design has stood the test of time. Our classic slide-in remains our most popular model thanks to its lower center of gravity and warm, homey interior: built to make life off the grid feel comfortable, and genuinely peaceful in your favorite truck!

Please join us in welcoming this latest crew of happy campers:

Kara and Kenneth from Idaho, heading out in their new 630 SI.

Jeff and Susan (with Kelly and Max the dog) from California, now traveling in a 700 SI. Jeff has had his eye on an Alaskan for 10 years!

Fred from Arkansas, exploring in his new 700 SI.

Robert and Marilee from Utah, also setting off in their new 700 SI.

We look forward to many miles, and unforgettable adventures ahead with each of you. 🫶
