Tech Tip Tuesday: RV Pedestal Safety ⚡

A few minutes spent checking your power pedestal can help prevent expensive damage to your RV.

Before you plug in, take these simple steps:

🔎 Inspect the pedestal for burn marks, corrosion, loose wires, or signs of water damage.

⚡ Check the voltage with a voltmeter:
• 120V from L1 to Neutral
• 120V from L2 to Neutral
• 240V from L1 to L2 on 50-amp service

🔌 Verify polarity to make sure the hot and neutral wires are correctly wired.

🟢 Check the ground to ensure it’s present and secure.

🛡️ Use a surge protector to alert you to wiring problems before they damage your RV.

Remember: A $20 test can help prevent thousands of dollars in repairs.
