🚨 Democratic Alliance Ward Councilor Candidate under the spot light after racially slur term used🚨

Democratic Alliance Ward Councilor candidate for ward 17 in the George Municipality Marizaan Stoffels is under the spotlight after her racial slur used against Member of Parliament and Patriotic Alliance member Ashley Sauls also known as Oom Biza van Die Kaap.

Mr Sauls who previously held the position of Executive Mayor of Beaufort West and an MMC (Member of the Mayoral Committee) for Health and Social Development in the City of Johannesburg. Has shared a screenshot from a social media page where Stoffels can be seen using derogatory and racial wording compering Mr Sauls to that of a Baboon.

This incident again highlights the progress made on South Africa when it comes to fighting racisim, even if your are from the same ethnicity group or have the same skin colour, racism is still amongst us and what's more worrying, concerning and sad is when a Candidate who wants to serve as a public firgue uses such terms on what one would perceive to be her "own kind".

Operation Dudula Plans Major Demonstrations on May 30

Controversial anti-illegal immigration movement Operation Dudula is expected to continue its nationwide mobilisation efforts ahead of planned demonstrations linked to May 30, as tensions surrounding immigration, unemployment and service delivery continue to rise across South Africa.

The movement, which has gained national attention for its strong stance against undocumented immigrants, has recently participated in marches and protests in parts of Johannesburg, Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal. Members and supporters have called for stricter border controls, mass deportations of undocumented foreign nationals and prioritisation of South African citizens for jobs, housing and public services.

Operation Dudula says the planned May 30 actions form part of its broader campaign to pressure government into addressing illegal immigration and what it describes as the collapse of economic opportunities for ordinary South Africans. Supporters argue that rising unemployment, crime and pressure on schools and healthcare facilities are among the key issues driving the protests.

However, critics and human rights organisations have raised concerns over the movement’s activities, accusing some supporters of promoting xenophobia and intimidating foreign nationals. Several civil society groups have warned that the growing anti-immigration rhetoric could fuel tensions and violence similar to previous outbreaks of xenophobic unrest seen in the country.

Recent demonstrations linked to anti-immigration groups have already resulted in disruptions in some communities, with reports of businesses closing and heightened police presence during marches. Authorities have urged protesters to remain peaceful and to act within the law.

Government officials have meanwhile reiterated that while concerns over undocumented immigration are being addressed through law enforcement and border management operations, all people living in South Africa remain protected under the Constitution and the rule of law.

Police and metro law enforcement agencies are expected to monitor any planned May 30 gatherings closely to prevent violence, intimidation or damage to property as the situation continues to attract widespread public and political attention.

“The Gloves Are Off” – Fadiel Adams Speaks After Bail Release

National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and Member of Parliament, , addressed supporters and members of the media after being released on R10,000 bail on Friday following his appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court.

Adams, who is facing charges relating to fraud and defeating the ends of justice, emerged from court in a defiant mood, declaring that “the gloves are off” following his arrest and detention. The statement has since drawn widespread public attention and is expected to intensify tensions surrounding the ongoing case.

Speaking outside court, Adams maintained his innocence and suggested that he believes the case against him is politically motivated. He criticised the manner in which his arrest and extradition to KwaZulu-Natal were handled and denied allegations that he would interfere with witnesses or obstruct the investigation.

The State had opposed bail during proceedings, arguing that Adams posed a potential risk to witnesses and had previously made public remarks against the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT). Prosecutors claimed that his statements could undermine the integrity of the investigation.

Despite the State’s objections, the court ruled in Adams’ favour, finding that he was a suitable candidate for bail. As part of his bail conditions, Adams is required to report twice weekly to Mitchells Plain Police Station and is prohibited from making contact with witnesses linked to the matter.

Following his release, Adams appeared determined to continue publicly challenging those investigating him, with his “the gloves are off” comment signalling what may become a more aggressive political and legal response in the weeks ahead.

The matter has been postponed to 14 August 2026 for further court proceedings.

NCC Leader Fadiel Adams Released on Bail in High-Profile Fraud and Obstruction Case

National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and Member of Parliament Fadiel Adams has been released on bail following his appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 15 May 2026.

Adams was granted bail of R10,000 after spending more than a week in custody following his arrest by the Political Killings Task Team in the Western Cape earlier this month. The court ruled that Adams was a suitable candidate for bail despite strong opposition from the State.

The NCC leader is facing three counts of fraud and two counts relating to defeating or obstructing the administration of justice. The charges are linked to allegations that Adams interfered in investigations connected to the 2017 murder case of former ANC Youth League secretary-general and Umzimkhulu councillor Sindiso Magaqa.

According to the State, Adams allegedly misrepresented himself during visits to Westville Correctional Centre where he conducted interviews with inmates connected to high-profile political cases. Prosecutors further alleged that he used his parliamentary position to gain access and arranged official escorts under false pretences.

During the bail proceedings, the State argued that Adams posed a risk of interfering with witnesses and accused him of showing disregard for the justice system. Prosecutors also claimed he made public comments targeting members of the Political Killings Task Team.

Magistrate Wendalyn Robinson, while granting bail, warned Adams to respect the rule of law and strictly adhere to his bail conditions. These conditions include reporting twice weekly to Mitchells Plain Police Station and refraining from contacting witnesses connected to the case, including SAPS members and investigators involved in the matter.

Supporters and family members celebrated inside the courtroom after the ruling was delivered. Adams is expected to return to court on 14 August 2026 as legal proceedings continue.
