Our THINK Motorcycle Academy and K53 Bike Lessons Team, Andy and Julia, are excited to be hosting an Open Demo & Info Morning on Saturday, 27 September 2025 from 09H00 to 12H00ish, at our Muizenberg Training Venue, Beach parking opposite the Traffic Intersection of Royal and Axminster Roads.

Anyone interested and keen to learn about riding a Motorcycle or needing info about any Motorcycle road riding and traffic related safety matters is invited to join…!

We are thrilled to reveal that the legendary 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗛 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 will be joining us for a Demo Day On The Coast! The Triumph Team will show off some of their popular Models, available on display, for you to see, feel and even an opportunity to ride them. Come experience what makes these Motorcycles so iconic, sit in the saddle, get behind the handlebars, listen to the raw growl of the Engines, and if you are a Rider with a valid Motorcycle Learners/Drivers Licence, you are welcome take the Bikes for a Test Ride, within the safe confines of our Muizenberg Training Venue.

Spring is definitely here... 🌻🌺🌷
The lekka Cape Town weather that the local Motorcycle Community have been waiting patiently for, has finally arrived and it's time to get "back in the saddle" on that "Iron Pony" of yours... 🏍🛵

That Motorcycle or Scooter parked in the garage, during Winter needs a little gallop around the Cape Peninsula just to clear the Carbs, charge the Battery or double check that the spectacular view from Signal Hill or Chapman's Peak Drive hasn't changed over the past few months.. any excuse just to take a quick lekka little ride to feel the thrill of the open road, again...🏍🛵

That "thrill of the open road feeling" can quickly become a "dull ache" when you suddenly realise that your Learner's Licence, that you did 2 years ago.. 🤦... is due to lapse pretty soon or might already have lapsed.... and now, the panic sets in..

And.. now is the time to get this Bike Licence sorted out, once and forever....🙄

In the greater Cape Town Metro there are only 5 x CoCT Drivers Licence Test Centres that offer K53 Motorcycle and Scooter Test Tracks to pass your K53 Bike Test.

▪️Milnerton Traffic Dept
▪️Parow Traffic Dept
▪️Bellville (Bellrail) Traffic Dept
▪️Somerset West Traffic Dept

The K53 Motororcycle Test is a practical Riding Skills Test as set out and prescribed by the South African Dept of Transport, within the Road Traffic Act.

The outcome of the K53 Motorcycle Test in South Africa is to measure and determine the Riders ability in respect of the handling and control of a gear Motorcycle or an auto Scooter, whilst responding correctly and defensively to all Road Traffic Signs and Rules of the Road, together with the correct and safe use of that Motorcycle or Scooter controls...🚓

Under the guidance of Andy Rice, a Motorcycle Rider Safety Instructor, with many years of experience as a Rider and as a qualified Motorcycle Instructor, we will advise and guide a Rider through the entire K53 Motorcycle or Scooter Test process from start to finish.

These Lessons are “K53 Motorcycle or Scooter Test Specific" and the content of all the Course Modules is designed to prepare a Rider to have an accurate and informed understanding of all that is required to pass the Test.

During our Lessons we go through everything that the Rider needs to know about the K53 Test, including:..
👉 One on One Instruction - no Groups..
👉 Supply of a 150cc Motorcycle suitable for your "Big Bike" A Motorcycle Licence K53 Test..
👉 How and where to book your K53 Bike Test..
👉 A full brief on the Booking process..
👉 An orientation on what to expect in the K53 Test environment..
👉 Those little "idiosyncrasies" relevant to each Traffic Dept Testing Centre..
👉 All the Pre-Trip Inspections On and Off the Motorcycle..
👉 Theory Sessions which clearly outline all the required Observations in the K53 Test, relevant to each Exercise..
👉 Going thru the various Test Exercises that form part of the K53 Test with the correct Riding Skills as required..
👉 Set up the K53 Test in a simulated Test Yard environment..
👉 Assist and coach the Rider to get the correct info to be properly equipped with the correct Rider Training as required in the K53 Test..
👉 To stand the very best chance of passing the K53 Bike Test.

To get maximum benefit out of these K53 Test Prep Lessons, a Rider must already be competent with current skills and ability to ride a Motorcycle or Scooter that they intend using to pass their K53 Test.

As the chilly Winter releases its grip on us here in Cape Town and the spectacular Spring weather starts appearing, we begin to look at that Motorcycle parked in the garage with a distinct longing to just take a quick lekka little ride to feel the thrill of the open road, again...🏍

An absolutely awesome morning of "Motorcycles at the Beach", as THINK Motorcycle Academy and K53 Bike Lessons hosted our 2025 DEMO DAY at their stunning Muizenberg Training Venue on Saturday morning, 24 May 2025.

We were very grateful to have the Team from Moto Royale and Royal Enfield South Africa who joined us, on the day, by bringing 5 of their popular Motorcycle Models along for display and demo rides. What a krakka of a morning, we had.. the beautiful weather and the spectacular setting delivered in spirit... the Royal Enfield Bikes made for some proper "eye candy" and the excitement from those Riders who took these different Models for a spin, contributed to make this Demo Day such an overwhelming success. Andy and Julia wish to thank everyone who popped in to greet us, to enquire about our Motorcycle Rider Training Programs, to chat about Motorcycle Rider Safety, to check out and ride the Royal Enfield Motorcycles and just to be part of this friendly Community that shares a common passion for riding a Motorcycle, no matter the Brand.
