Good Hope Sailing Academy

We are a sailing school established in 1993 teaching sailing. Our aim is to teach our students to respect the Sea.

They must have the knowledge to be able to handle a boat in confidence in all weather conditions. Good Hope Sailing Academy teaches all SA Sailings internationally accepted courses from beginning, competent crew course, day skippers, VHF radio operaters, local waters, coastal and yacht master offshore. Having completed these courses a candidate is entitled to master a yacht anywhere in the world.

Many of our students make a good leaving working in the yachting industry all over the world, and many families have had lovely holidays chartering a yacht somewhere overseas with the ICC ticket.

For many, it’s their very first time handling a yacht at sea, and every task—from hoisting sails to steering under instruction—is a step toward becoming confident, capable crew.

At Good Hope Sailing Academy, we believe in learning by doing. That means more than just theory—it’s teamwork, seamanship, awareness of the wind and waves, and learning to trust yourself and your crew. Today’s lesson? That sailing is not only a skill, but a mindset. ⚓🧠
