The AIMS Pilot Workshop for the AI Research Foundations for Higher Education programme kicked off on Monday 15 June.
This is a dry run of the lecturer training workshops that will be delivered across four African countries as part of the Google.org-supported initiative to strengthen AI education across universities in Africa.
Hosted at AIMS South Africa in Muizenberg, the pilot workshop brings together lecturers and researchers from the University of Mpumalanga, Stellenbosch University, and Rhodes University, who will go on to deliver this training to students on their own campuses.
Participants will work through technical lectures built on Google DeepMind's AI Research Foundations course, peer teaching practice, and pedagogical design sessions, with social and networking activities woven throughout.
Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks to our sponsor and partners for making this possible!
