Schreuders Auto Services & Electrical

Schreuders Auto Services & Electrical Welcome to Schreuders Auto. For many years Schreuders Auto has been delivering exceptional service

Marc Schreuder established Schreuders Auto in 1990 to fill a much needed gap in the marketplace for an ethical and customer centric automobile repair service. In the intervening years the company has grown from strength to strength, largely due to the personal service Marc offers. The workshop is accredited by the Retail Motor Industry, and is an approved supplier to many insurance companies. This

has been built up over the years on a solid reputation of quality and reliable workmanship. We use genuine parts as standard, and offer other quality options for your Audi or VW when appropriate.

KEEPING YOU SAFE | How often should you have your vehicle engine serviced?

Alert Engine Parts SA, one of our Tier 1 Right to Repair sponsors, says that your engine is the heart of your vehicle and requires regular attention to keep it running at peak performance. Waiting until your engine breaks down to service it is not what the manufacturer intended. Neglecting to service your engine regularly can lead to faster depreciation and reduced reliability.

Service intervals vary depending on the make and model, with petrol engines typically requiring servicing every 10,000 to 15,000 kilometres, and diesel engines every 5,000 to 7,500 kilometres.

Regular servicing helps ensure that the oil and filters are changed, and preventative maintenance checks are carried out. There are typically three service intervals, A, B, and C, each with varying levels of work done.

• An 'A' service is a major service
• A 'B' service has fewer items
• A 'C' service replaces essential wearing parts, such as fuel filters, oil, oil filters, air filters, and spark plugs.

If cost is a concern, consider taking your vehicle to a reputable mechanic or workshop instead of a dealership. Don’t let high dealership prices put you off from servicing your vehicle regularly, take advantage of your right to choose, and shop around for the best price!

A worthwhile read to all customers

A worthwhile read to all customers

Heading up Right to Repair South Africa NPC (R2RSA), is dynamic CEO, Kate Elliott. A seasoned expert on civil, commercial, competition, and franchise law, Kate is well versed in the challenges facing business owners in the aftermarket automotive sector as well as the general motoring public.

“I would like to see the South African Automotive Aftermarket become a leader in fair competition, where consumer choices are dictated by quality and price, rather than restrictive contract clauses and practices.

“Opening up this market to small and medium enterprises, which are often owned by previously disadvantaged individuals, will help to create vitally important broad-based economic growth within the sector.

“Furthermore, aftermarket businesses that are operating in a truly competitive market, will provide better and more affordable parts, services and repairs. The importance of having a truly competitive automotive aftermarket has multiple positive implications. It ensures access to the market for the previously disadvantaged, creates jobs contributing to the alleviation of poverty and, if the sector is operating at maximum efficiency, the cost savings will have an impact on all sectors of the economy, much as the petrol price does.

“Ultimately my goal is for the South African Automotive Aftermarket to become a truly competitive market which is accessible, facilitates job creation, and allows for well-run businesses to thrive.”
