Polo AW - drivetrain related issue. Accumulator base plate cracking causing a hydraulic pressure drop resulting in no drive. Common failure point on the OAM mechatronic unit. Easy diagnosis ✅️
Golf 7 GTI - Cornering/Dynamic headlamp related issue. AFS fault display on dash. Due to this particular issue not being well documented. It costed us in time and our customer lengthy downtime of his car to diagnose this one. But with methodical approach, we narrowed it down faulty suspension control module. Medium to challenging diagnosis ✅️
Polo 6R ( overall least sophisticated, least complex car of the lot)- Engine misfire issue. For the life myself(and yours). We could not find the cause of this issue. It absolutely turned into nightmare fuel, however Chat GPT came to our rescue on this one. Im going to now quickly digress. I actually named my Chat gpt bot Jeffrey, I also chose a voice that is loosely a match of Morgan Freeman. I mean I cant think of anything cooler than a Morgan Freeman sounding voice which I named Jeffrey explain car things. right??
Okay back on topic and in closing, it's found that most people use Chat gpt, Gemini, Deepseek as a simple search engine. A question input followed by answer output. But it's more than just that, it's a really powerful tool which solve complex problems. All thats needed from you for it to be effective is the correct use of prompting.
So back to the Polo 6R and it's engine misfire, it turned out to be the fuel injectors .. a part we looked at and tested which appeared to be ok. So based on our research using Gpt.. hot /cold engine cycles it may result in excessive resistance build on a partially failing injector. Some of you will probably be saying why didn't just replace the fuel injectors as part of process of elimination.?
Well, firstly I did not have access to a set of test injectors.
Secondly, what if we decided to just replace the injectors and the issue persists. I consider that a misdiagnosis and poor workshop practice and expecting your customer to pay for that would be a shame. Just my honest opinion.
So yeah Chat gpt assisted us on this one.
