🔧 Another Discovery 4 in the workshop at Out-There 4x4! 🚙💪

This beauty is in for some much-needed TLC, and our team has quite a bit of work lined up to get her back where she belongs! 😎

Here’s what’s on the to-do list:

🔩 New turbos
🔧 New vacuum pipes
🛠️ EGR replacement
🌡️ Radiator and boost pipe replacements
⚙️ New tie rod ends
🛢️ Full service and fresh oils
🔧 Plus plenty of other bits and bobs along the way!

Meet the beauty belonging to Mr Leon Meyer! And if we may add, this Defender’s owner has just as much personality as his beloved Landy! 😉💚

These two were made for the bush — enjoying those well-deserved getaways with the family and their trusty four-legged companions. 🐾🌳 There’s just something special about a Defender that takes you beyond the tar roads and creates memories that last a lifetime.

🔧 DAY 4 OF RESTORING GHARRY 🔧
A few hiccups along the way… 🛠️

After countless hours of cleaning, restoring, repairing and finally reassembling Gharry’s RD28 engine, we were hoping for nothing but smooth sailing from here…

But, as with any proper restoration, there are always a few surprises along the way! 😅

We’ve hit a little snag — the fuel pump seems to be faulty, so for now Gharry is standing patiently while we wait for our engineering team to test it and get back to us.

It may be a little setback, but we’re not giving up! Every part, every repair and every hour spent is bringing this beautiful old girl one step closer to getting back on the road where she belongs. ❤️

🛠️ DAY 3 OF RESTORING GHARRY 🛠️

Look at that intake manifold! 😍 What a difference a little time, patience and some serious elbow grease can make!

While we wait for the remaining parts to arrive, our team is busy cleaning every inch of the new engine, making sure everything is properly prepared before Gharry gets her heart back together.

The excitement is definitely building as this beautiful Defender Series II gets closer and closer to roaring back to life! 🐊💚

And there’s even more happening behind the scenes… 👀

A brand-new fibreglass roof is also being manufactured specially to suit our client’s needs — keeping that original look and character that makes Gharry so special.

This restoration is all about bringing her back to life while staying true to what she was meant to be. ❤️

🟢 DAY 2 OF RESTORING GHARRY! 🟢
🔧 The Green Machine – Defender Series II

After yesterday’s successful engine removal, our mechanics were straight back to work today! 💪🔩

Today was all about getting the heart of this beautiful old Defender ready for its rebuild.

🛠️ Sump removed
🧼 Block cleaned up
🔩 New Welsh plugs fitted
✨ Manifold cleaned
🔧 Blank-off pipes cleaned and prepared
🧰 Cylinder head cleaned and inspected

And the best part? New parts are already on their way! 🚚🔧

Slowly but surely, Gharry’s engine is coming back to life. This old girl has plenty of history — and we’re excited to give her a fresh start and get her bush-ready once again! 🌿🐾

Day 1 has been a huge success! ✅ Our mechanics have removed the old engine and are already hard at work building over the new engine that will bring this classic beauty back to where she belongs.

There’s still a long road ahead, but we’re excited to take you along for every step of the journey. From engine rebuilds to the final touches — follow Gharry’s transformation with us! 👀

GBV is not a private matter. It affects families, communities, workplaces and our entire country.
