The real story of Fanie Prinsloo! Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Therefore I declare and decree that every stronghold in our lives produced by negative thought patterns is broken. “I silence every evil tongue speaking against our lives today by the blood of Jesus”. Ps 109.2 I would like to take this opportunity to just tell our story so that when it gets spread the correct story is told. Fanie does not have a normal medical aid, just a medical insurance. All we could afford at this stage. He went to the Dr at the diabetic clinic for the first time in beginning of April with his toe that is sore and continued wound care was applied. Something aggravated it from the inside and being a diabetic this is not something to play with. We know this very well as my Dad past away from complication from a cut in his toe, also diabetic. His sister also took him to Pierre from Ecohealth and wound clinic, all in an effort to heal his toe. He received numerous medication went for a series of about 8 x IV antibiotic treatments (they very strong). The 25th of June he was rushed to Charlotte Maxeke as he was not feeling well and they were worried as it seemed to be affecting his heart and the Discovery insurance does not cover this? His sister that is currently in China, insisted in getting him into hospital and fitted the deposit for them to take him in at Netcare Krugersdorp, We will forever be grateful as this could have turned out much different. He had 3 operations in an attempt to first break the infection and then save his toe. However by the 3rd operation they notified Fanie that they are not able to save his toe and that the damage has moved to his heal and would need to be amputated to prevent further damage. Fanie’s leg was amputated on Wednesday the 5th of July 2023 and finally closed off on Friday 7th of July 2023.
The beginning of the year we as a family had to make a very big decision. Fanie had to close his business in Graaff-Reinet; we just had no choice anymore. Yes we could have handled it in a better manner, but when you in this kind of situation I don’t think you really see or think to clear. After being together for 23 years we had to make a massive change and Fanie moved back to Johannesburg to try and get us as a family back on track. Paula his one sister, whose husband is also working away, opened her doors and we will be forever thankful. He had a couple of loose jobs to try make ends meet, until he could get something more permanent. Never scared of working and eventually now had a couple of interviews lined up in his field of expertise. People that know Fanie, knows the vast amount of knowledge he has especially with Land Rover. We never asked for this to happen nor could we ever have imagined being in this kind of situation. We thank and praise God that Fanie has been spared for us, and we are ready for the next chapter in our lives. He has a long way to still go, but we are positive and know that this is the beginning of something great!
So please next time you would like to tell our story, make sure what the real story is. I will not allow negative talk over our family or Fanie! We are so grateful for everyone that has taken time out of their busy lives. Thank you so much for all the endless messages, love, care, prayers and generosity! With all our love Fanie, Charlene, Chevonne & Simonè Prinsloo.
