Rockfall clearing operations on the R328 Cango Caves Road are progressing well, with more than 1,970 tons of debris already removed.

🚧 R328 (Cango Caves Road) remains CLOSED
✅ Swartberg Pass remains OPEN as an alternative route between Oudtshoorn and Prince Albert

⚠️ Swartberg Pass restrictions apply:
• Light motor vehicles only
• No trailers permitted
• Maximum vehicle length: 7 metres

Road users are reminded that Swartberg Pass cannot be used to access Oudtshoorn via Cango Caves. An alternative route to Oudtshoorn is available via DR363 (Matjies River gravel road).
