Today was full steam ahead on one of the series of three 356 floorpans being built. We pressed the floors an completed the internal tubing which included a new fuel line. I did a smarr redesign of the flat tunnel to incorporate a puzzle type filler piece which gets welded in.

A busy day: Fahiem and Leandro busy removing the remains of the floorpans. This needs to be done in order to prepare the surface for the new floor pans.

We took the trip to JHB today and halfway in the audi started wheezing and lost quite a bit of power. We stopped at a garage and got some insulation tape and cable ties. Using some toilet paper we cleaned the oil off. We wrapped the whole roll around the hose and secured this with a couple of cable ties. I knew that ape will not be strong enough to stay in place but the cable ties would take the strain. We then drove to the pick up point as normal. My Son luckily picked up a hose from Goldwagen and we easily fitted it. I took my repair apart at home and must say it would have lasted a bit longer. We picked up a new Coupe body and a lot of laser cut parts for upcoming chassis builds.

Today was cleaning cleaning and even more cleaning. We also managed to move a chassis spine into the workshop in order to build another 356 replica chassis. We also loaded the dummy onto a trailer as tomorrow will be a road tri to fetch the body. I had some prints mafe for the workshop. The wiring is always usefull and I made a sign for the Workshop.

We are servicing and fixing oil leaks on this engine and found the forget-me-not plates on top of the cylinders.... we fixed up some heatexcangers and finally got the steering column buttoned up. Since we were gaswelding the heat exchanger I got Leandro to try gaswelding for himself. Despite it being his first time he got the tubes welded and quite solid. Trots op die jongman.

The Airshow had a huge variety of cars some very nice cars and something for every taste. The airshow and the commentators were top notch. We enjoyed every minute. Today we ate lunch at the Roadside Diner next to Loch Athlone. A very nice experience.

At the Bethlehem wings and wheels show Rolls- Royce Griffon engine v12 with contra rotating Propellors. I believe some Spitfires and the Shackleton used them.
