Stunning MK7 GTI...
Out with the OEM IS20 (just to small) turbocharger and in with a refurbished OEM IS38 turbocharger.

Thanas Tuning worked their magic calibrating the 1's and 0's achieving the best performance and reliability on with these turbos on this platform.

Even picked up an underlying fuelling issue which needs future remedial work.

ONE of the cleanest Hawks we have worked on returned after many years 🙏

A good client and friend first brought us this Hawkeye to do a fully built motor on which was WAAAY back in +/-2016/2017.

We were privileged enough to get to donsome 'major' work on this car again in 2023, and to see the car in the same, brilliant shape as before - INCREDIBLE. The new owners relentless care and love being constantly poured into the car was hard to miss. 🤩🤩🤩

The owner wanted a bit more performance/refinement, and we went ahead with the following:
- Installation of a Coolboost Water/Methanol injection system ✅️
- Installation of an Arashi Bolt-on Turbocharger ✅️
- Replacement of the OEM wideband sensor ✅️
- Overhaul of the starter motor ✅️
- Baseline tune was done to accommodate the new Arashi turbo in combination with the Water/Meth system ✅️

480wkw and almost 800nm as a daily drive = 😊

Thank you Mark for allowing us to be the 'Monkey Wrenches' and undertake the complete power plant transformation.

The car came to us originally in limp mode from a previous tune. NO ONE likes things that are limp 🤣

The car already had a Big Turbo Setup developed by G-Force Customs hosting a lovely PTE6466. 😍

We got LARGE AND IN CHARGE on the motors internals, rebuild and finally, a proper tune. This way full advantage could be taken from the big turbo to perform on a base fuel tune with Methanol injection in its daily driven mode.😮

With Thanas Tuning controlling the 1's and 0's as always, we know the tuning of the ECU and TCU will be in the green zone for 95octane which rips your face off 🫠

As always, we love taking pride in our engine builds utilising torque plates, rotating mass balancing, and full-on blue printing of anything that has combustion chambers. Don't hesitate to get in touch 🫡🫡🫡

Werner approached us shortly after purchasing his second-hand VW MK6 R...

It had a terrible misfire at 6000rpm which no one could diagnose.
He was told a software update, fuel filter replacement and a fuel system clean will resolve it - needless to say - those did NOTHING!

After lots of trial and error and the below-mentioned steps - she is purring like NEW....👌

- Compression testing.
- Leak down testing.
- Detailed Borescope inspection.
- Setting Camshaft timing correctly.
- Identifying aftermarket camshafts and an aftermarket head was used (we guess there was a bad failure with the last owner).
- Professional cleaning and testing of the direct injectors.
- Replacement of all of the valve springs - done in place with the head still on the vehicle.
- Putting the car back together as it should be - LOTS of screws & bolts were either missing or damaged.

The vehicle was then calibrated using dyno proven historical data to ensure the boost control, ignition timing and base fuelling with the upgraded hardware was in spec.

Amazing results as always with at the helm of the ECU.📈📈📈

She will be back soon for more tuning and upgrades we are told
