Contrary to what most bike riders and sales shops assume,
a bike service is definitely not just an oil change.
There are a number of time and mileage related maintenance procedures that need to be taken care of regularly.
These are mostly preventative measures that assist to keep your ride safe and reliable.
Brakes, front forks, steering bearings, wheel bearings, tyres, rear swing arm etc. to mention only a few.
We highly recommend that if you are as concerned about your safety as what we are, that you should plan a visit to our workshop for a check over asap to update all your bikes maintenance.

WORK AND SERVICE HISTORY

Paperwork is the key to knowing what was done, when it was done, who did it, and what the cost was.
We regularly get told by customers that when they bought the bike, it was serviced before they bought it, or it was just recently serviced.
It’s very important to remember that if there is no paperwork, then the chances are the work either wasn’t done, or it was only an engine oil change (not a service).
A worthy service provider will provide an invoice that clearly shows what work was carried out and what parts were used.
Even the type or spec of oil that was used is important. It should be “JASO” spec motorcycle oil and it should at least be “wet clutch” compatible oil.
An older high-mileage bike or one with a comprehensive up-to-date work history is often worth more than one with low mileage and no history.
When it comes to maintaining a bike, there doesn’t need to be any surprises at all.
Maintenance and especially preventative maintenance is either up to date or it isn’t.
Don’t be surprised, rather be prepared.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Man-made problems are expensive to repair. Rather leave it to those who know what they are doing.
We sometimes need to spend more time reversing wrongdoings than what we would have spent doing a simple repair to start with.
Modern bikes often require an absolutely logical focussed and fast approach to diagnose and repair problems.
Also, more often than not, fitting or making a plan to fit substandard parts takes much longer than using the right part to start with.
The outcome of the work and the quality of your ride are directly proportional to the parts used and the workshop that did the work.
Additional unnecessary labour is paid by the customer – don’t be caught this way.
