Process of buying a car at the Beitbridge, SA side border:
1. Make full payment for the car.
2. You will need an ID and proof of address for documentation.
3. Documents are processed within 3 to 6 hours, and the inspection certificate is issued within 24 hours.
4. After receiving the documents and inspection certificate, you will need to process the duty on the Zimbabwean side.
5. Duty depends on the car's make and model.
6. Duty for cars with an engine capacity of less than 1500cc is paid half in USD and half in ZIG.
7. Duty for cars with an engine capacity greater than 1500cc will be paid in USD.
8. All hybrid car duties are paid in ZIG.
9. Processing duty takes 1 to 2 days.
10. The total estimated time required to buy and pay duty is 3 to 5 days, depending on the border system.
