🌧️🚗 WET WEATHER – LET’S STAY SAFE ON THE ROADS! 🚗🌧️
Happy Monday, everyone! 👋
It looks like we’re in for a rainy week, so it’s the perfect time for a little reminder about staying safe behind the wheel when the weather turns wet! ☔️
Driving in the rain can be more challenging, especially for learner drivers, so here are a few important tips to remember:
✅ SLOW DOWN – Wet roads mean less grip, so ease off the accelerator and adjust your speed to suit the conditions.
✅ INCREASE YOUR FOLLOWING DISTANCE – Give yourself plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front. Stopping distances increase on wet roads!
✅ TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON – Make sure you can see and, just as importantly, that other drivers can see you.
✅ AVOID SUDDEN MOVEMENTS – Brake gently, accelerate smoothly and steer carefully to help maintain control.
✅ WATCH OUT FOR AQUAPLANING – If your tyres lose contact with the road on standing water, ease off the accelerator and avoid sudden braking or steering.
✅ BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS AROUND PUDDLES – Water can hide potholes, and driving through deep water can be dangerous. Never risk driving through floodwater!
✅ CHECK YOUR TYRES AND WIPERS – Good tyre tread and working windscreen wipers make a big difference in wet conditions.
