Gotta go where the horsepower is, Trouble won't be there as we have hurt the clutch but there's always next year

Righto, lets talk about clutches

A standard Harley-Davidson clutch is designed for a smooth, light lever pull ideal for casual or daily riding, but it can slip if you add aggressive engine upgrades. A heavy-duty clutch uses higher clamping force—via stiffer springs or extra plates—to prevent slippage under high torque, but requires a significantly stiffer lever pull.Standard Harley-Davidson Clutch Best For: Stock to mildly modified V-Twin engines (under 90-100 HP).Lever Feel: Soft, easy, and comfortable. Perfect for long-distance rides or navigating stop-and-go traffic without causing hand/forearm fatigue.Design: Utilizes fewer, thicker friction discs and standard-tension diaphragm springs.Drawback:

High-performance engines with big cams or high-torque builds will overwhelm the stock clamping force, causing it to slip and burn out prematurely.Heavy-Duty (HD) Harley-Davidson Clutch Best For: Engines with big-bore kits, high-lift cams, heavy-duty touring/towing, or aggressive, high-RPM riding.Lever Feel: Stiff and heavy.
It requires much more physical effort at the lever, which can lead to rapid forearm fatigue in heavy traffic or daily commuting.Design: Achieves superior holding power through stiffer pressure springs (e.g., Screamin' Eagle or Barnett heavy-duty springs) or "extra-plate" kits (which add more friction surface area into the same basket size without needing gorilla-stiff springs).Drawback: Tiring in traffic and can place extra stress on cable and hydraulic lines over time.

Scotty's Tech Tip

With the colder months hitting now, your bikes battery is under more stress.
Reason behind this is the cold tends to increase the risk of the battery dropping a cell and Harley davidson battery issues often stem from the modern security system parasitic draw.
What is a parasitic draw?
Modern harley security systems and alarms continuously draw power and if you don't ride the bike often, the security system will deplete the battery.
The fix!!
Have a Battery Tender fitted to the bike so that it keeps a smart trickle charge going to the battery. This will give you longer battery life a save you from a s**t day when your bike won't start.
