Many people will know I’m making the jump to get an mot station installed in the garage. This is just a reminder I am closed this week to allow the guys in to carry out the necessary work before the equipment is installed. I will be back open as of Monday 26th.

Ford Focus came in from a local garage with the rear driver’s door not opening.

Initial checks found that both the power window and central locking functions were inoperative on that door only. After carrying out a diagnostic scan, there was no communication with the rear door module.

Knowing the communication wiring runs through the front door, I inspected the wiring loom and found the window glass had been chafing against it, resulting in a broken wire.

The damaged wire was repaired and all door functions were restored successfully ✅

Must be the month for wet belts 😅

This Vauxhall Corsa came in for a wet belt replacement. I’m seeing these engines develop belt issues from as little as 40k miles.

This Ford Fiesta came in to have the wet timing belt replaced. These belts are known for premature failure due to the belt material degrading over time.

With 65k miles on the clock, this belt was still in good condition, but the customer chose to replace it for peace of mind and preventative maintenance.
