Hello again from Chiang Mai, Thailand. 🇹🇭
I recently introduced myself and shared a little about what I do here in Chiang Mai.
Today, I would like to share something about traveling in Thailand that may be useful for wheelchair users and seniors who are thinking about visiting.
Thailand has many beautiful places to see. We have temples, markets, nature, local food and many different things to experience.
But I also understand that traveling with a wheelchair can sometimes be different.
Some places are easy to access, while others may have steps, uneven ground or other things that can make a visit more difficult.
This is why I always feel that a little planning before the trip is helpful.
For example, it is good to check the hotel, transportation and places you would like to visit before you arrive.
Sometimes even a small detail can make a big difference.
And everyone's needs are different.
One wheelchair traveler may be comfortable with a small step, while another person may need a completely step-free route.
So I don't think we should only ask:
“Is Thailand wheelchair accessible?”
I think it is better to ask:
“Will this place be suitable for me?”
That is something I have learned from my experience working with wheelchair travelers over the years.
I recently wrote a more detailed guide about Accessible Travel in Thailand on my website. I hope it can be useful if you are thinking about visiting Thailand.

I am happy to share what I know and what I have learned from my experience here.
