This little connector was causing a big headache! 🔧

Got called out today for a truck with an intermittent starting problem. Traced it to a broken retaining clip on the starter’s trigger-wire connector, allowing the connection to come loose.

Small details matter when you’re tracking down a problem like this.

Another project I absolutely didn’t need… but I wasn’t turning down FREE 😂

Big thanks to Steve at Road Runner Equipment Rentals! He offered me two old trailers, and this homebuilt 7×16 is the first one home. It needs work and tires, but I’ve already got plans.

Next pickup is a gutted camper. The goal? Combine the two into a budget toy hauler with sleeping quarters up front and room for Shell Shocked on the back.

Am I onto something, or just getting better at making excuses to bring home junk? 😂

16 days until Burnout Rivals at the Freedom Factory… and Shell Shocked’s engine is coming out again. 😅

The original crank is scored and has bearing material packed into the oil passages. So I pulled a crank from an old 5.3 sitting in my yard. It looks better, but still needs cleaning and measuring.

Between that, the rods and pistons from Mike, and new bearings on the way, the rebuild is coming together.

We’ve got two more events to survive this season: Burnout Rivals, then Burnouts for Kids in Rockingham.

Think we’ll make it? 👀

I thought Shell Shocked needed a piston, some bearings, and a little luck. Apparently I needed more luck. 😬

Pulled the rest of the engine apart, and there goes my plan for a quick fix…

We’ve come too far with this truck to quit now. Would you keep rebuilding this 6.0 or look for another engine?

Went to use the bathroom and apparently decided today was demolition day 😂 Been putting this soft floor off for months… then randomly decided I couldn’t leave it alone another minute.

Anybody else put something off forever, then tear into it with absolutely no warning? 👀

Recently replaced:
✅ Radiator and water pump
✅ Lower intake gaskets
✅ Valve cover gaskets
✅ Cooling system flushed

I’ve put several hours of driving on it since the repairs, including a 1.5-hour nonstop trip, with no overheating. Runs and drives well, and it’s freshly cleaned inside and out.

It’s an older SUV with some imperfections:
• Broken interior hood-release handle—still opens by pulling the cable
• Cracked driver’s door panel
• Previous owner cut away the dash top; carpet dash cover installed
• Slight play in the steering

Before you lower the price, clean the car and take better pictures. 👀

I once bought a car, detailed it, took better photos, and sold it the SAME DAY for $800 profit. Every flip won’t work out like that, but presentation matters.

The Jimmy wasn’t getting a showroom detail—just a good cleanup before listing it. Even put a toilet brush to work on the drill 😂

PAID OR PLAYED? Time to find out. 👀

I took this Jimmy as payment for fixing another truck… then had to fix it before I could cash out. Crumbling intake gaskets and a cooling system full of copper sealer definitely weren’t helping.

New parts, a thorough flush, and three hours of driving later—no more overheating! Now it’s time to clean it up and get it listed. Hopefully it’ll cover some bills and help get Shell Shocked to the Freedom Factory. 🤘

What do you think a running ’98 Jimmy with 248k miles will sell for?
